Excellency,

It is with profound sadness and deep concern that I express to Your Excellency my sympathies and those of the ASEAN Secretariat for the horrendous loss of life and the severe damage to the property and the economy caused by the acts of terrorism in Bali on Saturday night. 

I join Your Excellency in condemning these cowardly deeds.

I am confident of Indonesia’s resolve and capacity to curb the challenge of terrorism and its impact on human lives, economy, and society.

ASEAN is called upon to further intensify its solidarity and cooperation in countering terrorism, which are already being strengthened.
