ASEAN and ROK made significant pogress in implementing the development cooperation programme. Within the latter part of FY 1994, five projects were successfuIly implemented namely: (1) Study and Training Programme of Korean Strategies for Trade Promotion; (2) ASEAN Customs Officials Training; (3) Youth Exchange and Cooperation project; (4) Exchange and Training of Experts in the Field of Tourism and (5) the Second Year of the Technical Transfer Program in Agricultural Development.

The Seventh Meeting of the ASEAN- ROK Joint Management Committee (JMC) held or, 23 January 1995 in Jakarta, approved the budgets for two new projects for implementation within FY 1995, namely : (1) Study -four of Korean Libraries by Senior Librarians and (2) the HRD Programme for Official, of ASEAN Countries. These two projects are to be held in Seoul, ROK in June and July 1995, respectively. Meanwhile, among the four projects, carried over from 1994, three have been completed, namely: (1) the Survey on Investment Demands of the ASEAN Countries for the Textiles and Chemicals Industries; (2) Basic Research Project for Supporting the Establishment of S&T Policy and R&D Management Systems in ASEAN Nations, and (3) ASEAN-Korean Diplomats' Mutual Study Trip Programme; One is still being implemented, namely Research on Emerging Issues in Korea's Trade and Investment Relation with Southeast Asia.

The Second Meeting of the ASEAN- ROK Dialogue was held in Seoul from 7 to 9 June 1995. In the meeting, ASEAN and ROK agreed to redouble their efforts to achieve further trade facilitation and liberalization in order to increase and even out the two- way flow of trade between ASEAN and the ROK. Apart from the ROK's contribution to the ASEAN-ROK Special Cooperation Fund (SCF), the ROK also agreed in principle to ASEAN's request to fully fund the proposed ASEAN Promotion Centre on Information, Culture and Tourism in Seoul (APCS). However, a feasibility study will first be conducted by the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) hopefully by the end of 1995. At the Meeting, ASEAN provided a blueprint of the proposed model for the Centre for se by KOICA in the feasibility study.
