To be in line with the liberalised economic policy, new laws were enacted and some of the existing laws amended, to be compatible with the changing business environment.

21	The Science and Technology Development Law	1994	To promote science and technology through transfer of technology and co-operation with research institutes and high-tech oriented organisations.
22	The Protection of Wild Life and Wild Plants and Conservation of Natural Areas Law	1994	To enforce and implement policy regarding the protection of wild life and natural plants and conservation of natural areas.
23	The Myanmar Mines Law	1994	For the development of mineral prospecting and exploration works to enhance production of minerals and promotion of exports. To enforce and implement mineral resources policy effectively and also for environmental conservation.
24	Myanmar Citizens Investment Law	1994	To Promote the inducement of domestic investment so as to lead to promotion of production and exports by the private sector.
