How You
Can Help
The SARS problem can only be
contained if all of us are socially
responsible and take the necessary
precautions:
|
Take precautions when
travelling
|
|
Stay home
• |
If you have a fever or
are unwell, do not go to
work. See a doctor and stay
at home until you are well. |
|
|
Curb infection
• |
When you go to the
doctor’s clinic, wear a
face mask so as to
reduce the risk of spreading
infection to others. |
• |
If you cough, cover your
mouth and nose with tissue
paper or a handkerchief. Do
not spit on the floor or in
the open. |
|
|
Eat and live right
• |
Build up your body’s
resistance by maintaining a
proper diet,
adequate rest and exercise. |
|
|
For parents
• |
Monitor your child’s
temperature with a
thermometer daily. |
• |
If your child has a
fever, do not send your
child to school. See a
doctor and let your child
stay at home until he or she
is well. |
|
|
At work place
• |
Monitor staff who have
been to SARS-affected areas
closely. |
• |
If they develop
symptoms, advise them to not
go to work. Seek medical
attention immediately. |
|
|
Wash up
• |
Practice good
personal hygiene and
wash your hands frequently. |
|
|
Help keep our environment
clean
• |
Do not throw remnants of
food on the floor or in the
open. |
• |
Do not leave food in
common areas for stray
animals. |
• |
Do no spit on the
floor and common areas. |
|
